About Us
WorkBC Employment Services
WorkBC is a provincial government initiative that offers employment services in one-stop centres across British Columbia. We ensure that everyone in our community has access to the supports and services they need to find and keep sustainable work. We also help employers connect with qualified job candidates.
Our team is widely experienced in delivering services to a variety of clients including; Immigrants, Youth, Aboriginal people, Francophones, Persons with disabilities, Survivors of violence and abuse, Persons with multiple barriers to employment and people living in rural or remote areas.
We offer flexible program delivery that features face-to-face, online and outreach service options.
Our Partners
In order to provide timely and appropriate WorkBC services to all job seekers within the Saanich Peninsula and Gulf Islands, we have partnered with other agencies to deliver rural and specialized services.
Southern Gulf Islands Community Resource Centre
SGI Community Resource Centre on Pender Island provides WorkBC services and supports to job seekers living on Pender, Mayne, Galiano and Saturna Islands. All WorkBC services for these residents are available from our Pender Island partner, as well as from our Salt Spring Island and Sidney WorkBC Centres. Job seekers can choose which location to access services from.
The Inter-Cultural Association of Greater Victoria (ICA)
ICA helps individuals and organizations connect across cultures. By engaging people through networks, education, employment, and arts programming, they create a welcoming community, in turn supporting immigrants and refugees to reach their goals.
Bridges Society for Women
Bridges Society for Women provides specialized employment programming for women who have experienced trauma or abuse. Through counselling, mentoring, and increased job readiness, Bridges inspires these women to reclaim their lives and build economic stability.
Amber Education Services
Assists in the preparation of WorkBC Client’s Skills Enhancement Services, which includes supporting eligible individuals in acquiring training in basic and essential skills, occupational skills training, adult basic education training and academic upgrading.
The Reger Group
The Reger Group is a training and entrepreneurial development organization that provides the key skills required for success in business. They deliver the Self Employment Program that assists eligible individuals to acquire the skills they need to create and maintain full time self-employment. This initiative provides business coaching, support and financial assistance to help cover living expenses while the individual grows his or her business.
